Let me on behalf of the organizers of the conference
thank you for participation and sum up its course.
Representatives of the Czech University of Agriculture
Prague, the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and Ministries
of Culture, of Labour and Social Affairs, for Regional Development, of
Foreign Affairs, of Agriculture and of Environment participated on the
conference.
Total number of participants was
101 persons, including 25 foreigners from 14 countries. Presentations and
discussions were divided in 8 sections and also one round table was
organized.
The children chorus “Medvidata” (Small Bears) provided
the cultural program (they send you kind regard).
More than 30 contributions were submitted.
We hope, you were satisfied with the proceedings of the
conference; nevertheless your suggestions and proposals will be welcome. You

The objective of the Conference
was to introduce foreign and Czech institutions,
which deal with the variety of
rural issues, and to enable the participants to discuss and exchange of experience at three levels (international, national and local).
The town Cesky Krumlov, designated
Unesco Historical Site, has been deliberately selected for holding the
conference, as it is a small town, which is attractive for the visitors, and
because it lies in a formerly poor agricultural area of southern Bohemia.
